This unique wood freeform Sitka spruce root bowl sculpture is mounted on a black obsidian rock base. It is truly one of a kind, with smooth and stunningly beautiful grain patterns combined with natural holes, cracks, and swirls. The wood was rescued from a fallen 40 inch diameter dead tree deep in a western Oregon forest. All together the sculpture measures 9" Tall x 9" x 8'', 4.1 lbs; wood only 6.75" Tall x 9" x 8''.
… A smooth, satin, oil based finish seals this bowl / sculpture and Howard’s Feed-N-Wax (a blend of beeswax, Brazilian carnauba wax, mineral oil, and orange oil) enhances its beauty.

Care of your Valuable Art piece:
1. The beauty of your art piece will best be maintained by periodically gently removing dust with a very soft brush on a vacuum cleaner, and perhaps occasionally rejuvenating the finish with a very light coat of Howard’s Feed-N-Wax (a blend of beeswax, Brazilian carnauba wax, mineral oil, and orange oil).
2. The wood for this sculpture was cured until it reached a moisture content like that in most homes. In some pieces, natural cracks have been filled and others have been retained to enhance the sculpture's design. Occasionally, over time, cracks may change since indoor humidity levels vary considerably (e.g., residence, office, area of the country).
3. Your art piece should NOT be displayed in direct sunlight (no wood likes direct sun) because strong light will fade its rich colors.
4. Display this treasure where it will be protected from chemicals and moisture.
