Unique, one-of-a-kind large live edge burl bowl sculpture, golden brown with maroon tinges and beautiful rich grain, sculpted from attractive reclaimed wood, about 27” long x 14” x ~ 6”, 5 lbs.
… The beautiful salvaged Siberian black elm wood came from a 40” diameter and 60’ tall tree, approximately 80 years old.  It fell in a severe winter ice storm in Oregon City, Oregon, and I was lucky to be given 17 amazing pieces for carving.
… As for all my larger sculptures, this piece comes with a personalized printed "Record of Ownership."
… This exquisite one-of-a-kind bowl is 26.8" long, 13.7" wide, 5.5’’ tall, and weighs 5 lbs. 1 oz.  Some of that rustic exterior has been preserved to add character to the art and the burls were strategically sculpted to take full advantage of their fascinating grain patterns and colors.  Splits and cracks have been strengthened and sealed with clear epoxy.
… Whomever claims this useful handmade art will have a fine art piece that can function as a bowl or catchall tray.
… Twisted, intertwined and beautiful, this stunning wood evolved into an art piece to treasure.  It will become someone’s heirloom worth passing down to loved ones they treasure.
… A smooth and glossy shellac like finish protects this bowl so it can hold and display anything but liquids or moist items.  It will enhance a home or office for many many years.
Care of your Valuable Art piece:
1.  The beauty of your art piece will best be maintained by periodically gently removing dust with a very soft brush on a vacuum cleaner, and perhaps occasionally rejuvenating the finish with a very light coat of Howard Butcher Block (a tasteless and odorless mix of food grade mineral oil & natural waxes).
2. As for all wood art, it should NOT be displayed in direct sunlight (no wood likes direct sun) because strong light will fade its rich colors, of course some wood colors inevitably change some over time.
3. Display this treasure where it will be protected from chemicals and moisture.
