… The recycled old tree this strongly grained wood came from was about 80 years old, 30 inches in diameter, and 60 ft. tall. Unfortunately it fell in a rare winter ice storm. The tray's natural splits and cracks have been strengthened, filled and sealed with epoxy.
… A smooth and glossy shellac like finish protects the underside of this platter and a food-safe wax protects the top so it can hold and display anything but liquids or extremely moist items.
… As for all my major sculptures, this piece comes with a personalized and printed "Certificate of Ownership" that explains the sculpture’s creation and history.
… Shipping: This item will be shipped in a box. I expect it to take 4-5 days to ship and I will email you when it has been sent.

Care of your Valuable Art piece:
1. The beauty of your art piece is best maintained by periodic gentle dust removal with a soft brush on a vacuum cleaner and, if you feel it is needed, occasional buffing with a very light coating of something like food-safe Howard's Butcher Block finish or, especially if it is for display not food, Howard’s Feed-N-Wax (a blend of beeswax and Brazilian carnauba wax [pronounced kahr-nou-buh], mineral oil, and orange oil) which helps protect and enhance the rich colors.
2. Display this treasure where it will be protected from sun, chemicals, moisture and damaging heat. No wood likes direct sun, because strong light fades rich colors (of course, some wood colors inevitably change over time).
3. If you have specific questions, you are welcome to email me: rcpaulson@msn.com.
