Exotic, one-of-a-kind wasabi irregular burl live edge wood bowl (food safe) with natural curving flowing lines and short legs, 5.25" tall x 14" wide x 10" deep (front to back), and weighs only 2 lbs., 9 oz.
… The old growth Siberian black elm tree – about 120 years old – that provided the beautiful strongly grained burls for the sculpture had a 30” diameter trunk and was about 60’ tall. It fell in an Oregon windy winter ice storm, and I was fortunate to be given 30 pieces for sculpting. I left some of the bowl's minor holes and cracks intact to add to its authenticity.
… A smooth and glossy shellac like food-safe finish protects this bowl so it can hold and display anything but liquids or moist items.
Care of your Valuable Art piece:
1. The beauty of your art piece will best be maintained by periodically gently removing dust, and occasionally buffing it with a very light furniture polish.
2. As for all wood art, it should NOT be displayed in direct sunlight (no wood likes direct sun) because strong light will fade its rich colors, of course some wood colors inevitably change some over time.
3. Display this treasure where it will be protected from chemicals and moisture.
