Exotic branched wood root bowl, large, smooth, rustic refined, twisted, arced, sprawling, one of a kind, unique, maroon, brown gold, 14.75'' T, x 21.5, obsidian rock floor inside, Wabi Sabi, driftwood, fruit bowl, food safe, beautiful, 369-A

This intriguing ,irregular, 21.5-inch branching root-bowl sculpture began as salvaged driftwood found on the Pacific Ocean coast in Oregon.  It has flared, branching sides and smooth golden-brown colors with maroon tinges.  Inside, the bottom of the bowl is extra unique due to its cracked maroon and black obsidian rock which has been covered and smoothed with clear epoxy.  The bowl is 14.75 inches tall x 21.5 x 21.5 (~8” deep inside).  It weighs 11.4 lbs.  

…Most inside natural splits and cracks have been strengthened and sealed with epoxy.  

…The wood came from a tree about 15 inches in diameter, roughly 40’ tall, and approximately 50 years old.  I suspect the tree is a conifer, but the beautiful rich dark brown color reminds me of black walnut (but since it is driftwood that could even have come from South America or Asia, I can’t be sure). 
… As for all my larger sculptures, this piece comes with a descriptive, personalized and printed "Record of Ownership."  
… A smooth, satin, oil-based finish seals and protects this bowl, and the inside is also coated with a food grade wax, so it can hold and display anything but liquids or moist items.

Care of your Valuable Art piece:  
1.  The beauty of your art piece is best maintained by periodically gently removing dust with a soft brush on a vacuum cleaner, and occasionally buffing it with either a very light polish such as Howard’s Butcher Block – conditioner (a tasteless and odorless mix of food grade mineral oil & natural waxes).  
2. As for all wood art, it should NOT be displayed in direct sunlight because strong light will fade its rich colors, although some wood’s colors inevitably change a bit over time. 
3. Display this treasure where it will be protected from chemicals and moisture.
